A Benedictine convent established in 1342 thanks to the bequest left by the aristocratic Florentine family Lottieri Davanzati. Access to the convent is through a fourteenth-century single-nave portal leading to seventeenth-century altars and nineteenth-century frescoes. We suggest you take some time to admire the 14th-century Crucifixion fresco attributed to the Orcagna school, the nearly 4-meter-long wooden cross and the fresco, by the Poccetti school, removed from the shrine on Via Santa Marta.
